Mercury is an extremely difficult planet to image, perhaps the toughest of them all. I think the best way to image Mercury is to locate it in the morning and follow it until it is well up into the sky, then photograph it. Even then it is not easy as the contrast difference from the planet and the sky is small. Below are my attempts.
